Ethical fashion on your own terms; for your self-discovery.
Last week, a good friend confessed:
I love your blog, but I really don't own anything that could be considered 'eco-fashion'.
She was shocked when I quickly told her that my situation wasn't far removed from hers.
Here's the simple and beautiful truth:
Eco-fashion does not require you to be a perfectionist.
No one should throw out their clothing and starting from scratch.
For me, it's a journey of self-discovery; one that is full with passion and the pursuit for love and humanity.
Because I enjoy fashion, it's also a way for me to make informed shopping decisions.
It's an opportunity for me to learn, and to source clothes with wonderful stories of human history and progress.
I have no plans to stop dressing (public nudity is frowned upon). Clothes are a must-have.
So I've decided to spend the money on clothes that fit my view of the world.
It doesn't hurt that it's for a good cause, and I'm learning a lot about the world every day.
Don't stress out.
Your approach to ethical fashion is as unique as your sense of style. That's the only way to really enjoy it.
I will confidently say that ethical fashion is for real. It's not a hippie thing. It's not a 'girly' thing.
It's not gender-specific. It's not age-specific. It's not race, sexual orientation or religion-specific.
It's an empowering movement that should be taken seriously.
Whether you chose to participate, and to what extent you do, is totally up to you.
No one can tell you otherwise.
If you ask me, it doesn't hurt to try it on.
See how it fits you.
