Let's get straight to the bottom of it!
For most of us, this isn't something that you learn until later in life: good underwear is important. Fabric, fit, colour and quality is important. These pieces spend many hours closer to your body than anything else, and they act as primer for your clothing.
I'm not saying that your entire underwear collection needs to be thrown out. Butt, it might be nice to consider buying better quality and organic fabrics if you've never tried them before.
For socks, panties, boxer briefs, camisoles, leggings, tights, long johns, hoodies, t-shirts, and other basics, I like WearPact.com. They are committed to organic materials and fair-trade practices. All of their items are pesticide and chemical-free and made organic cotton. Convenient and quite affordable for those who want only the purest of materials near their tushies. Bottoms here shown in Aloha style.
I really love the style of American Apparel's unisex brief packs. They are made from organic cotton, and are made in LA. If you are very petite, I would avoid these, but otherwise, anyone with a waistline of 28 inches to 38 inches can really enjoy these babies. Ladies, they have a menswear look of course, so you have to be into that.
Do One Thing Well. I think that Teko Socks does that. My feet are cold throughout winter, so their wool socks are mandatory in my sock drawer. I didn't know this until recently, but wool actually helps wick sweat and keep your feet dry.
I find that the average woman has stopped utilizing the sock as a fashion accessory. Dressy socks are an affordable way to transform an outfit, to add personality and personal style. If I don't want to buy a new dress, I usually throw a bow-tie on. Socks are also a great way to make old things new. I like American Apparel's sheer dressy socks, which come in many lengths and sizes. I credit my Mommy for always believing in dressy socks for going out. Thanks Mom!
Stella McCartney Lingerie: Stella uses recycled metal for hardware and organic cotton for the gussets. I've personally found her pieces to be completely invisible under clothing. They also keep their shape well over time.
Shown here: MESH CONTOUR BALCONETTE BRA with gold hardware $ 65.00
Lili Piache: This New York brand was built by three Japanese women who understand that satin is made from silk, not polyester - Amen! My favourite floral pieces (shown here) are printed on silk satin with French leavers lace. Bra $99.
If you're doing to lounge around in your pyjamas all day, you can still look chic doing so. Punjammies has a pretty cool cause, and seriously: who doesn't want to lounge in a pair of these guilded beauties ($49)? They claim that you can dress these up and wear them to go out, and I believe them. Hello glam pyjama party!
That's all for now.
